Methodology of the needs analysis.


The methodology that I have used for the needs analysis of the research study about " the educational factors that need to be considered in order to develop seventh grade students´ interest in learning English while using blogs to develop their writing skills? has been the following:
First,taking into account that I have observed students´lack of interest in English class beacuse many of them have failed the subejct,they do not do homework,they copy the homework from their classmates and some of them do not do the activities in class; I decided to design some instruments to measure students´interest in English class.
Second,I looked for information about how to measure students´interest and I found interesting documents about that like the Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI) which helped me to understand what kinds of statements I could use to measure students´interest in English class.
Third,according to what has been discussed in  the research meetings,I decided to design a checklist and a questionnaire using the Five-level Likert Scale.I create different questions taking into consideration various aspects to know if students were interested in English class.
Fourth,the instruments were corrected in a research meeting.
Fifth,I applied to students the instruments.
Sixth,I tabulated the results of the instruments.
Seventh,the results of the instruments were analyzed in a research meeting.It was discussed that the results showed that students are very interested in English class despite many reasons such as poor grades,failure of  the subject, and irresponsibility.
Eighth,in a research meeting it was agreed that a discussion will be developed to know in a deeper way students´reasons about their interest in English class and access to internet.
